About Us
History
Friends Day Care opened in 1971 as a parent co-operative. It was incorporated in 1991 and has since operated as a not-for-profit centre, licensed by the Ministry of Education. Our volunteer Board of Directors consists of parents and other individuals from the community. Friends Day Care is also a registered charity.
Ages we care for
We accept children from 2 to 5 years of age, who are accommodated in two programs:
Preschool - Ages 2 to 4
Kindergarten Ages 4 and 5*
*Children are enrolled in our private in-house Kindergarten.
Staff
Warm and caring staff is a priority at Friends Day Care. Each staff member receives annual CPR training and maintains First-Aid certification. Currently, our staff consists of Lorna Meggitt R.E.C.E. (Supervisor), Jeff Sagara R.E.C.E. (Co-Supervisor), Katie O' Connell (Assistant Teacher/Cook) and Rudy Luft (Assistant Teacher). Together our staff has almost 50 years of Friends Day Care experience!
